The calais jungle, officially known as camp de la Lande was a host to thousands of refugees that had fled from their war torn countries.
Refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq and many more countries had taken these life threatening journeys with their families and small children across treacherous seas in desperation and hopes of a safer life. Seeing how these refugees and migrants where living in this former landfill turned shanty town really broke our hearts and we decided to lend them a helping hand and do what we could. With the help and support of our local community we were able to collect a van full of supplies and donations such as clothes, duvets shoes and many more.
We were able to distribute these supplies across the jungle to many of the refugees. When visiting the refugee’s camps we are able to listen to their stories and we realised how these people were once just like us with beautiful families, warm cosy house and successful jobs. We quickly realised the realities of this world and how one minute you can have it all and the next it can all be gone, with a blink of an eye. We thought we were going to help them but left with a great big lesson that nothing truly is forever.
The refugee’s warm welcome and appreciation of life despite being in their situation was overwhelming and life changing. We were filed with gratitude and humbled by this blessed opportunity.

What you cannot do by yourself, can be done if you just let someone help you and this was the case when we came across an amazing charity know as Children Of Adam.
They are a UK based charity that participates in multiple projects in the UK and around the world.
One of their projects that court our attend was, that they would work with the homeless by facilitating in handing out food packs, clothing and sleeping bags.
We got in contact with them and they gave us an opportunity to work alongside them. With the help and generous donations of friends, family and our local community we were able to fill an entire van of food packs and distribute them to those in need across London.

How can we forget the event of the Grenfell Tower were a huge fire took place and completely destroyed a large block of flats causing the death of 72 people. Many more were injured, with it later emerging the blaze started on the fourth floor and spread through the building.
This devastating event shook us all. Images in the media broke our hearts and we couldn’t contain ourselves to just sit, watch and do nothing, so we called our friends, families and loved ones to come together and gather whatever supplies they could donate from, food, clothes, toiletries, baby supplies and many more. We were able to collect 2 cars worth of supplies and essentials and drive up to London and distribute to those who had lost absolutely everything in the fire. With the help of those around us this would not have been possible. It showed us that no matter what race or religion you are we are all part of humanity and saving one life is like saving mankind.

As we all know there are many countries around the world suffusing from poverty and drought as a cause of this there are many families going without clean water to drink. Many young women and children are having to travel miles and miles on foot to collect just even a small amount of water for their families.
Then there are those who, through no choice of their own, are having to wash and drink unsanitary water which increases their risks of getting severely ill and in some extreme cases lead to death. One of the countries that had come to our attention that was going through this crisis was Pakistan.
We as a group got in contact with human appeal to find ways to help. Human appeal is an non-profit organisation working across the globe to strengthen humanity’s fight against poverty, social injustice and natural disaster. Through the provision of immediate relief and the establishment of self-sustaining development programmes, they aim to invest in real, effective solutions.”
Being a successful charities organisation and seeing the work they had done across the globe we decided they were the best organisation at the time to entrust all the funds we had successfully collect through our local community and send through their aid workers to build a well were most needed in Pakistan. By the will of god and the help of this charity we were able to successfully build a fully functioning water well that provided clean water to hundreds of people in a town in Pakistan.
