Gems of Faith went to Morocco to do some charity work with an organisation called Original Volunteers, they had multiple projects set up, which included visiting an orphanage, school with special needs children, and a primary school which catered for disadvantage children. WE attended all the tasks set out for us to do, and we where amazed with the welcoming and love that we had received.
we also made food packs for the homeless. This experience made us learn what is truly feels to be humble and grateful and have so little. WE had been blessed to have met amazing people that wanted nothing from us but wanted our time to listen to their stories, and those stories motivated us to want to do more.
We were informed that there was a collection being made for the children of Syria. With the celebration of Eid in this once beautiful country, were street would be light up, now due to the war and famine this was no longer the scene.
This meant that young children were not able to celebrate how they once would that also meant no getting together or receiving any gifts. This saddened us deeply and we came together as a community and collected gifts for children. the donations we received varied from colouring books to toys, arts and crafts and many more.
We were able to successfully put together gift boxes that had been sent and received to the children of Syria. Yet again we could not have been able to achieve this without the help of our communities.
What you cannot do by yourself, can be done if you just let someone help you and this was the case when we came across an amazing charity know as Children Of Adam.
They are a UK based charity that participates in multiple projects in the UK and around the world.
One of their projects that court our attend was, that they would work with the homeless by facilitating in handing out food packs, clothing and sleeping bags.
We got in contact with them and they gave us an opportunity to work alongside them. With the help and generous donations of friends, family and our local community we were able to fill an entire van of food packs and distribute them to those in need across London.
We donated to help buy books, pens, sanitary towels, shoes, and food for the children in Uganda
